Tim Mathis
Pastor

Dr. Mathis is a graduate of Clayton State College (A.A.), the State University of West Georgia (B.M.), and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M. Div. and D. Min.). Dr. Mathis has been our pastor since December, 1988. Prior to coming to First Baptist Church, Dr. Mathis served churches in Georgia and Ohio. His hometown is suburban Atlanta, GA.

Misty Smith
Interim Director of Music

Misty Smith has joined the Ministry Team as the Interim Director of Music Ministries. Misty moved to Danville in March due to a job relocation for her husband, David. The Smiths are Georgia natives, and have joined us from the South Metropolitan Atlanta area. They have four children, Victoria, William, Savannah, and Caroline, ages 10, 8, 5, and 2. Misty has a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from State University of West Georgia, and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Percussion Performance from Clayton State University. Misty served as the Music Associate at New Hope Baptist Church, North Campus, in Fayetteville, GA for 10 years. Misty is also the younger sister of FBC Pastor, Dr. Tim Mathis.
